Following a trip to California, where a new wave of salad bars was emerging, Nathan Dalah and Nic Pestalozzi decided to combine their love of fine food with casual, quick and accessible service. The result was Fishbowl, which opened in Bondi in the summer of 2016.
The friends wanted to make the most of Australia’s access to high-quality seafood and produce with a destination that offered beautiful, healthy Japanese salads made fresh to order.
Fishbowl provides premium, sustainable ingredients, with a particular penchant for sashimi, so you can build your own bowl from base to toppings or choose a signature option. With such fresh food to choose from, there’s no wrong selection.
Fishbowl has grown rapidly from its original beachside location, with venues also in Darlinghurst, North Sydney, Manly, Surry Hills and the CBD.
